BigCommerce offers $1000 for TikTok ads

0

E-commerce platform BigCommerce announced a new advertising coupon program with TikTok to give ad credits to qualified merchants in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada.

Merchants that spend $300 on ads will get $1,000 in ad credits, reported BusinessWire last week.

“By supporting merchants with low-cost, low-risk opportunities to advertise on TikTok, BigCommerce is giving them a powerful incentive to experiment with a leading channel and unleash their creative side to better reach and engage with new and existing customers and drive growth for their businesses,” said Sharon Gee, vice president of revenue growth and general manager of omnichannel at BigCommerce.

Users can access TikTok For Business via the BigCommerce Channel Manager.

Melissa Yang, head of ecosystem partnerships at TikTok, said, “The shopping experience on TikTok is all about discovery – we’ve seen businesses of all sizes use our platform as a creative outlet to engage new audiences, and ultimately drive sales.”

Facebook ad spend keeps growing, mainly among Android users

0

Facebook ad spend is growing despite Apple’s iOS privacy changes.

Facebook ads accuracy has diminished because most Apple users have opted out of being tracked by advertisers, yet Insider Intelligence/eMarketer projected in a report on Friday that US advertisers will spend $50.3 billion on ads in 2021, over a 32% jump from last year.

Facebook ad growth is expected to slow to 15.5% next year, according to the report.

The reason behind the projection for continued Facebook ad growth is primarily due to rising ad prices as many advertisers continue to use the social media giant.

Interestingly, some advertisers have stopped targeting Apple devices to avoid doubt over campaign results, thus resulting in an increased cost to advertise to Android users.

Shopify’s Q3 results show e-commerce is booming

0

Shopify’s third-quarter results indicate that retail’s transition online is accelerating.

Shopify’s growth is slower than last year’s incredible numbers, but investors seem to be focusing on the fact that Shopify continues to show signs of sustainable growth for the long term, reported The Motley Fool on Wednesday.

Shopify announced that revenue grew by 46% in the third quarter to $1.1 billion and that subscriptions rose 37% to $336.2 million. A Shopify study found that live stream shopping events will earn $25 billion by 2023 in the US with Amazon and Facebook also testing out live sales platforms, noted the report.

In addition, Shopify continues to expand its offerings and added Shopify Markets, the new hub where all the tools will be accessed to manage global commerce, which will be activated by default. Further, it added a free financial tool called Shopify Balance.

Instagram ads top TikTok ads, company says

Creatopy, a platform to create ads, released a case study after running similar video ad campaigns on both Instagram Reels and TikTok ads.

The Instagram Reels ad performed much better than on TikTok in terms of reach and impressions, the company said in a post on its website last week. Instagram Reels had almost double the reach and around three times the number of impressions compared to TikTok.

The TikTok ads also cost more in terms of cost per click (CPC) and cost per thousand impressions (CPM).

At the start of the experiment, Creatopy said it had 5.5 thousand followers on Instagram and only a few on TikTok which was created only a few days prior. The same ads and ad copy ran for the same time period.

One interesting observation was that on TikTok the ad campaign boosted the views of a previous video posted on the platform so it appears TikTok ads can increase exposure to other content.

The company notes that a different type of ad could perform better on TikTok so the results of this test are by no means definitive.

We've Found The Perfect Trending Product To Dropship During The Holidays

We’ve found a product from Ecomhunt that you absolutely MUST sell this Christmas!

The best thing about this product is that it’s currently trending right now, which makes it even more in demand. This product, if marketed correctly, can sell like crazy these holidays and even after they end.

In this week’s article, I’m going to review the product, the ad, and everything else about it. You’ll receive some really important tips that will help you beat the competition and sell it.

There’s even multiple targeting suggestions and some of them aren’t so casual. With these targeting suggestions, it’s possible you’ll hit an audience other dropshippers didn’t even touch!

Don’t miss out on this product and start selling it now!

Enjoy.

find winning products to dropship

Before I show you the product and review it, let me tell you first how I found it and why I chose it as a good product to sell during Christmas(and even after it).

As you already know, Ecomhunt has a database of thousands of winning products. These products, new or old, are winners that made a lot of money at some point of their existence.

This means that no matter what product you take from Ecomhunt, it still has the potential to sell really well again.

So if you’re looking to make some money dropshipping products from Ecomhunt, you simply can’t dismiss old products just because you think they’re “saturated”.

But how do you know which old product to pick up? What’s the best time to sell it? Exactly for that, we have developed Ecomhunt LIVE.

Ecomhunt LIVE

Our LIVE feature monitors every product on Ecomhunt and reports back when a product is currently trending. Your only job is to take your preferred trending product, make your research, and decide if you want to try and dropship it right now.

And this is how I found the product I’m going to talk about in this article. The only difference is that I searched for a specific niche product first on Ecomhunt, and by chance it was also trending which just makes my decision even better.

So let’s go to the product and review everything there is around it.

The Burger Press

The Burger Press

This week’s recommended trending product is this awesome Burger Press. Families will be spending time eating together like in any other holiday, so I was looking for a cool Kitchen/Cooking niche product to sell this time.

This Burger Press caught my attention the moment I saw it on the older pages of Ecomhunt, and it was also trending so it made my decision to pick it even easier.

The moment a certain Ecomhunt product is trending, you’ll see a small “NOW TRENDING” red badge next to it(see picture above).

It’s also important to mention that this product wasn’t the #1 trending product on Ecomhunt LIVE when I first found it. But now, a couple of days after I first saw it, it is the trendiest product of them all.

I think this is an excellent product to sell during the holidays and you can even keep selling it long after Christmas. The whole point is that now people have more money to spend, and it’s likely that we’ll have a better chance of making this product go viral.

The Ad

Burger Press Facebook Video Ad

The ad example for this product is really simple… There’s no real production or too much time invested into it which leaves a lot of room for improvement.

You can easily create a 20-30sec video ad for this product from the available videos found on Aliexpress and other sources. I personally recommend checking out services like Waving Pandas, Fiverr, and others that can create stunning video ads for you that will be fresh.

It’s really important to launch fresh new creatives for old products and not copy the same exact thing other dropshippers did. Once your target audience gets exposed to new content, they’ll be more likely to click on your ad.

Note:

You don’t have to stick to the same exact product found on Ecomhunt. There are many variations of the same product on Aliexpress and maybe even better ones.

Do some research and maybe you’ll find a much better product to sell no dropshipper even touched.

Targeting

Facebook Targeting

With targeting you can go both ways:

The first option is to do things the default way without any special tricks or changes. This is what most dropshippers do like targeting USA, regular interests like Hamburger, etc.

The second option is to look for targeting opportunities that not many dropshippers think about. Stuff like targeting different countries, finding “hidden interests”, etc.

Let’s jump to the easiest option which is default targeting:

Facebook Default Targeting

As you can see, I went for traditional interests that most people will use when trying to sell a Burger Press. I also targeted USA which is one of the most targeted countries and chose only 35+ women because I think women will be more likely to buy.

This targeting option isn’t wrong and if you decide to sell this product, you’ll HAVE to test the default options as well. You can definitely get sales but you can be sure that there will be many more advertisers fighting for the same audience.

The second targeting option is to try something new:

This targeting suggestion uses the same exact interests, but I chose to target Israel & France instead of going USA like everyone else.

We will have less competition when targeting these countries and it’s possible that we’ll get cheaper conversions as well.

And if you’re asking why I chose France & Israel, here’s the answer:

Ecomhunt LIVE Top Countries By Orders Chart

For each product on Ecomhunt LIVE, you’ll get exclusive analytics to help you beat the competition. One of the most important analytics is the Top Countries By Orders chart.

Here you’ll see the countries that buy the most of this product from Aliexpress and you can test your targeting based on that chart. And just like that I have found a new audience I can test, and the best thing is that it’s backed up by real data.

Another option is to find “hidden” interests not many have used or think about a creative way of targeting:

This time I gave a bit more thought and realized that targeting married women with children can be a good option. Why? Because they already spend enough time cooking for their kids, so this Burger Press can be a good thing.

It will both help them save some time and cook the perfect burgers for their kids. And just like that, I probably offered you a different targeting option that not many dropshippers will test.

Be creative, do your research, and you may find good targeting options not many dropshippers have used.

Selling Strategy

Hamburger press aliexpress search results

There are plenty of burger press products on Aliexpress to choose from on Aliexpress. The average price for the one you see on Ecomhunt is about $5~$7, but I believe you can find a much better price if you source it using a fulfillment company.

Companies like CJ, Drophippo, Yakkyofy, and others can source any product you like from Aliexpress for a much better price. And you’ll have better shipping times and better customer support from them.

So check them out before ordering from the first Aliexpress seller you see ?

The average price should be around $5 not including shipping, so we can try and price this product on our store for at least $19.99.

With shipping included in the price, we’re looking at a profit margin of $12-$13, and if you charge shipping then our profit margin can be about $15-$16.

Quantity discounts:

Quantity discounts are a MUST when selling this product. There’s a big chance people will be looking to buy more than one burger press for themselves or even as a gift, so offer a nice discount on 2 pieces or more to increase your AOV(Average Order Value).

A 10% discount on 2 items and an additional 5% discount on each additional item should be a good discount. Lower than that and your customers won’t be tempted to take more than 1 item.

Another thing you can do to have a bigger profit margin is to sell the more expensive variations of this Burger Press:

burger press aliexpress double

The Aliexpress sellers have many variations of the same product like double burger press, and even triple pressers, so you can price it for even a higher price and profit more.

This double burger press costs about $14 with $2 shipping – You can easily sell it for $29.99 or even $34.99 and get a good profit for each sale.

You can also offer one of these products as an upsell… Plenty of opportunities to make even more money with this Burger Press.

To Sum It Up

This product can be a hit if you market it correctly and choose the the right target audience. Just make sure to create new creatives and don’t just copy the same video other dropshippers already did.

If you have questions, feel free to ask me in the comments.

Good Luck!

Influencer marketing trends for 4th quarter

0

Investments by brands in influencer marketing is booming.

An article on the Financial Express website names five influencer marketing trends to be aware of for the fourth quarter this year.

1. The use of live streaming by influencers to chat with their followers is powerful. Live streaming on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok allows for a deeper relationship and an opportunity to build brand awareness with followers.

2. Video and audio content are great for organic reach. The influencer using the brand in video and audio can give your product a boost.

3. Influencers provide social proof for a brand and can demonstrate “your brand’s sincerity to its principles,” according to the report.

4. Famous influencers are becoming less important and micro-influencers are gaining relevance. Prospective customers that engage with an authentic influencer that they can identify with and trust can mean good results for your marketing campaign.

5. Influencers have changed the way they write captions, which creates trust with the consumer. Influencers can even make short comments that create an effect.

Free shipping can boost conversions

0

Shipping fees are a main reason why consumers abandon their carts with an average rate of nearly 70%, according to an article published by Shopify.

Customers expect free shipping and fast delivery, according to a recent McKinsey report that says more than 90% of US buyers expect two to three-day delivery.

Another 30% expect orders delivered on the same day and a 2021 Consumer Trends Report found that 80% expect free shipping when ordering products of a certain amount. An overwhelming 66% expect free shipping for all online orders.

Shopify recommends one way to offer free shipping is to offer it conditionally or promotionally using a minimum order value, promo code to gain email subscribers, deals during peak sales periods, and on specific products to get rid of inventory.

Shopify states that free shipping makes it easier for a buyer to reach the threshold with 48% saying they will add more items to their carts to get free shipping.

Twitter ad revenue jumps despite Apple iOS changes

0

Twitter reported a 37% jump in third-quarter ad revenue despite the new Apple privacy updates and shipping disruptions.

The company announced on Tuesday that it had a revenue of $1.28 billion in revenue with ad sales up 41% from the same period a year earlier, reported The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.

Facebook and Snapchat blamed the Apple updates for lower sales growth.

Twitter’s ad revenue is not as tightly linked to targetted ads compared to Facebook and others, according to the report.

The company launched a pilot shopping feature called Shop Module that allows companies to show their products on their profiles and allow users to buy products without leaving Twitter.

Google and Facebook allegedly colluded to rig ad market

0

A judge in New York unsealed documents on Friday in an anti-trust case led by the State of Texas against Google with one of the main charges being that it colluded with Facebook to keep the ad market centered around Google.

The project was called “Jedi Blue” and internal documents at Facebook show that the company had four options: to hire more engineers, to spend billions to lock up inventory to compete, exit the business, or do a deal with Google, reported Search Engine Land on Monday.

Google is considered concerned about header bidding which allows website publishers to buy and sell ads on the web and bypass Google, according to the report. Header bidding works by selling ad space to the highest bidder at the very moment the webpage is loading. According to the court documents, Google was worried an ad competitor like Facebook could support header bidding and damage their monopoly on the ad market.

“There is potential that publishers and advertisers have been overpaying and missing out on placements due to Google’s alleged collusion with Facebook to essentially rig the ad market,” the article stated.

Facebook is losing younger users fast

0

Facebook is trying to find a solution to its loss of younger users, with teenage users declining 13% since 2019 and predicted to drop 45% over the next two years, according to a researcher at Facebook.

Further, users between the ages of 20 and 30 were expected to decline by 4% over the next two years, reported The Verge. While Facebook’s Instagram still is popular with younger users, the social media giant’s own numbers show that they are starting to use the app less.

According to the report, in an internal presentation earlier this year, it was estimated that teens spend two to three times more time on TikTok than on Instagram, and Snapchat is the favorite app for communicating with friends. “Most young adults perceive Facebook as a place for people in their 40s and 50s,” according to the internal presentation.

“Our products are still widely used by teens, but we face tough competition from the likes of Snapchat and TikTok,” Joe Osborne, a Facebook spokesperson, told The Verge.
