BestBuy is laying off employees across the country as the electronics and appliance company strives to cut expenses and shift its business online.
Persons acquainted with the matter told The Wall Street Journal that numerous store employees who specialize in selling more complex products such as computers and cellphones, termed “consultants” within the corporation, were notified this week that their employment will be abolished.
Hundreds of jobs would be lost across Best Buy’s US locations as a result.
“As we shared last month, we’re evolving our stores and the experiences we offer to better reflect the changes in customer shopping behavior, as well as how we organize our teams,” stated Best Buy.
