US retail e-commerce sales will reach over $1 trillion this year, an increase of 9.4% from $960.44 billion last year.
According to data by Insider Intelligence/eMarketer, more than 20% of money spent on retail will come from e-commerce by 2026. This year e-commerce will make up 15% of all retail sales and is predicted to reach 16.4% next year.
“Online sales contribute an increasing share of the country’s total retail sales, which will approach $7 trillion this year,” stated the report.
Amazon will make up 37.8% of all online sales, which is more than the next 14 largest e-commerce competitors combined.
