The vast majority of users (71.2%) shopping on TikTok say they buy when they “stumble across something in feed, Stories,” and other parts of the app.
The second most common response by shoppers (58.2%) worldwide on TikTok was that they use it for “shopping inspiration.”
The “Social Shopping Survey” was carried out by Bazaarvoice and published on Feb. 23, 2022.

Those who said they shop from paid influencer recommendations were at 44.7%, and 39.1% said they actively seek products in their feed and Stories.
Another critical factor in the survey was social proof, as 31.7% shop using recommendations from friends and family.
