In a lawsuit, the US Justice Department and a group of states filed against Google accuses the company of abusing its dominance of digital advertising technology.
A US federal judge on Monday set the start date for a jury trial to September 9, 2024, reported Reuters.
The complaint, filed in January 2023, accuses Google of monopolizing the digital advertising business and stifling competition. The government believes Google should be forced to sell its ad manager suite.
According to the report, Google rejects the argument and says that if the lawsuit succeeds, it would “slow innovation, raise advertising fees, and make it harder for thousands of small businesses and publishers to grow.”
